IzhAvto Keeps Fulfilling Production Plan

On April 7 Udmurt President Alexander Volkov held his fourth meeting with the administration and workers of the OAO “IzhAvto”.

Opening the meeting, Igor Kulgan, Director General of the Unified Automobile Group, noted that in March the factory had worked steadily, fully and accurately meeting its commitments. According to Director General, by April 20 the Renault-Nissan group shall come to a final decision as to what car models and in what quantities will be assembled at the IzhAvto. Igor Kulgan voiced a conservative prediction that the amounts of Renault and Nissan automobiles to be manufactured at the factory may surpass those that had been announced earlier. He also informed factory employees that after completing Kia cars assembly operations workers will switch to the production of Renault and Nissan cars.

Leaders of principal factory departments informed the participants of the factory’s progress in March and its plans for April. They said that VAZ 2107 body welding and assembly technologies have been fully mastered, and that in April the factory will produce 200 cars of this model. And then the VAZ 2107 production will be increasing due to a one-year continuation of the used car disposal program. In April 4200 cars are expected to leave the assembly line.

It was reported at the meeting that in 2011 the number of employees (and the average salary) had kept growing.

Alexander Volkov thanked the participants for their steady work in March. “With each new meeting I see more and more clearly that a full-fledged, active and motivated team is being formed at the factory. Besides production issues, you begin to be concerned about the insufficient number of leisure activities, food service quality, etc. This shows your confidence in your enterprise, in its and your own future. This is very important. What’s more important though is that you keep strengthening this confidence with your work,” said Alexander Volkov.

According to the Udmurt President, reaching the monthly production volume of 10 thousand cars will be a real victory of IzhAvto workers. “Then Russian and foreign partners will regain their confidence in you, new orders will start coming, and your factory will surely return to the number of most successful enterprises in the Udmurt Republic,” said Alexander Volkov.
