Best People in Russia Encyclopedia to Include Anatoly Mamontov

Anatoly Mamontov, Creative Director of the Italmas State Academic Song and Dance Ensemble of the Udmurt Republic, has been selected for inclusion into the Best People in Russia encyclopedia.

Anatoly Mamontov who celebrated 50 years of his creative career in 2010, is a most prominent cultural figure in the Udmurt Republic. His name was recommended for inclusion into the encyclopedia by the Administration of the City of Izhevsk, information on him will be placed in the “Motherland’s Glorious Suns and Daughters” section.

Anatoly Vasilyevich Mamontov, People’s Artist of Russia and the Udmurt Republic, winner of the State Prize of Udmurtia, an Honored Citizen of Izhevsk and the Udmurt Republic, is an author of numerous musical pieces and stage plays. Since 1962 he has been the creative director of the Italmas ensemble that has long been a “trademark” of both Udmurtia and Russia. Italmas has won numerous all-Russian, all-USSR and international competitions, it has taken part in prestigious musical festivals.
