German Days in Izhevsk Festival

On November 10, 2010 Alexander P. Goryainov, Head of the Administration of the President and the Government of the Udmurt Republic, met with Knut Zuchan, Head of the Work Staff for Cooperation with Russian Regions, Embassy of Germany in Moscow. 

Knut Zuchan came to Izhevsk to participate in the German Days in Izhevsk festival.  

The German Days in the Russian Regions project is a series of events that are organized jointly by the German Embassy and Russian regional organizations and/or persons with the purpose of familiarizing Russin citizens with various aspects of German culture, education, science and economy. 

The principal idea of the project has been to present today’s Federal Republic of Germany to the Russian people, to promote people’s interest in the German language and culture, classic and contemporary art, folk art, hold German-Russian meetings. 

In 2010 the German Embassy issued a grant for holding the German Days in Izhevsk to the Izhevsk Law Institute, a branch of the Russian Law Academy of the Russian Federation Ministry of Justice. 

The festival takes place on November 8 through 12.
